Microsoft is offering three new incentives to tease wannabe customers into its ERP and CRM systems, in a bid to stave off economic woes.
The first is Business Ready Flexible Pay, which gives new Microsoft ERP and CRM users in the US the option to purchase solutions today but spread payments over three years, apparently interest free. Incidentally, the company is also freezing its maintenance fees.
Second, in what the software giant describes as "an effort to make it easier for companies to move from outdated and costly business applications to Microsoft's modern ERP solutions", selected partners (again initially in the US) will be able to offer Microsoft Dynamics ERP with a 50% discount on licensing. In turn, they receive a 25% rebate (up to a maximum of $25,000) but the offer is limited to customers switching from Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200, or Oracle's JD Edwards EnterpriseOne.
Finally, Microsoft says it wants to make it even easier for ERP customers and partners to expand solutions to include CRM – so it is making Microsoft Dynamics CRM available as a stand-alone product from Business Ready Licensing.
Scott Rollins, vice president and chief information officer of Flow International, which has already taken up option two, says: "We fundamentally saw Microsoft Dynamics AX as a game-changer for us versus Oracle JD Edwards."
"In addition, our analysis showed more than $5 million lower total cost of ownership over five years with Microsoft Dynamics AX versus JD Edwards EnterpriseOne."
