German hydraulic assembly elements manufacturer and fasteners distributor Otto Roth Group is buying an IFS Applications ERP system for SKr 10 million to replace its bespoke legacy system.
The company says it expects to improve business agility, automate business processes and transform communications across the units and divisions that make up the group. It’s planning for a phased implementation, starting in January 2008.
It also expects the system to enable rapid change and says that by, implementing standards-based software, it believes it will be less vulnerable and less dependent on internal IT staff.
Says Rainer Grässle, managing director of Otto Roth: “We chose IFS for two reasons. First, IFS Applications covers all our critical business processes without being too complicated. That is important: we are a mid size company with employees that have a wide spectrum of assignments, and they want a system that is easy to use. Second, the IFS consultants understood our business and challenges, and showed that they really wanted us as a customer.”
The new system includes components to support the company’s HR, financials, manufacturing, supply chain management, maintenance, and sales and marketing.
