Cloud-based services provider Outsourcery has sold its Vodafone mobile voice and data business to Daisy Group.
The remaining cloud services and O2 mobile voice and data businesses has been spun out into a new company, prior to the sale and will continue under the Outsourcery brand.
Outsourcery's joint CEO Simon Newton says it's a strategic move to increase the company's focus on cloud services. The sale enables Outsourcery to unlock integrated UC (unified communications) solutions that integrate mobile voice and data solutions provided by O2, he suggests.
"We are also excited to be working more closely with O2 to provide mobile voice and data solutions for the next generation of mobile, which will be increasingly integrated with cloud-based unified communications solutions," says Newton.
As part of that, Outsourcery has invested in a new virtualised cloud platform, based on Microsoft's Hyper-V Cloud, which will be launched in the second quarter of this year.
Newton says Outsourcery intends to provide the broadest SaaS (software-as-a-service) and PaaS (platform-as-a-service) product set.
