Systems integrator PEAK Technologies projects more than $1 million in efficiency savings in the first year following going live on SAP ERP.
PEAK, which majors on supply chain automation and inventory management solutions, says it went for SAP because of its long-term scalability and potential in terms of common business processes.
Says PEAK president & CEO Ross Young: “As a mid-market company faced with the global pressures of a Fortune 500 company, we knew that SAP ERP was a smart choice to enable us to address dynamic business processes and ever-changing customer requirements.
He points to the elimination of disparate programs and procedures as one immediate efficiency gain. With SAP, he says, the organisation now gets deep visibility into daily operations, enabling its more than 200 users to get a better handle on business requirements and customer needs.
And he cites visibility into purchasing trends, customer buying patterns and similar information that helps direct activity to grow market share and revenue.
As part of that, a service-based e-commerce portal and a standalone ordering engine were also integrated into PEAK’s SAP ERP solution to improve customer service.
“SAP ERP allows our business goals to align with our IT goals,” says Michele Adams, senior vice president, Finance and IT at PEAK. “We are now positioned to make proactive decisions based on real-time information and company data. We now have a system that can scale to our ambitious growth strategy, which includes acquisitions.”
