Piper Aircraft improves cost measurement with Infor LN ERP

US-based single- and twin-engine aircraft manufacturer Piper Aircraft has selected Infor LN ERP to improve its purchasing, supply chain, product engineering and account management processes.
Greg Spadaro, senior director new business systems at Piper Aircraft, says that the new system offers a broad base of functionality that will help with several aspects of the business, from warehousing to product lifecycle management and manufacturing execution.
"Infor LN delivers the functionality to manage everything from warehousing and manufacturing to financials and accounting, all within a single solution, without the need for customisations or multiple applications," confirms Spadaro.
"With a unified data repository and connectivity between our development and manufacturing departments, Infor LN will enable better business decisions that are based on greater visibility into our engineering processes," he explains.
In particular, Spadaro refers to Infor's robust financial accounting package, which, he says, is capable of determining a truer cost measurement for aircraft planning. Users will be able to make better business decisions through easier access to financial data and planning tools.
Further, he comments on the unified ERP approach, which allows for easier configuration, eliminating the need for individual upgrades and subsequent testing.
And he also refers to Infor LN's open architecture middleware, which leaves room for future growth, without any concerns around proprietary data structures.
With automated data archiving and reporting, Infor LN will also provide Piper Aircraft with a consolidated source of information to more easily document work processes and obtain industry certifications.
