CCTV, IP video, access control and intruder alarms manufacturer Pointer says its new T-Mobile solution is increasing productivity and cutting costs.
Head of IT Stuart McKillop explains: "The majority of our sales managers and engineers work from home or spend a lot of their time on the road. In the past, many would return to the office to check e-mails. Considering we offer a 24/7, 365 day service, investing in a cost efficient mobile communications strategy was crucial."
Pointer upgraded to T-Mobile's Business 1-Plan tariff, with agreed minutes, text and data across users, and added 3G data cards, BlackBerry Bold smartphones and G1 devices.
Although Pointer has only recently signed up, McKillop says the firm is already cutting costs.
"The Business 1-Plan tariff creates a level of transparency, which means we are able to predict costs and avoid 'bill shock' at the end of each month. In the current turbulent economic environment being able to track our costs on an ongoing basis is of huge benefit," says McKillop.
He also cites other benefits as increased responsiveness and improved staff attraction and retention.
"We've found T-Mobile's Mobile Broadband Network to be both reliable and to offer excellent coverage across the UK. Having access to the Internet, wherever they are, allows our sales staff and engineers to maintain the excellent customer service we pride ourselves on and simultaneously increase productivity," says McKillop.
