International welding firm Serimax, which serves the gas and petroleum industries, has selected IFS Applications to overhaul its information systems and optimise project management.
Jean-Pierre Genoud-Prachex, information systems director at Serimax, says that the new ERP solution will improve profitability, as well as equipment management and responsiveness to risks and deadlines. He also expects it to enable simpler and faster collection of customer receivables.
Genoud-Prachex says Serimax needed a consolidated data management system to manage projects carried out in extreme conditions, and adds that IFS allows it to model project tracking while also seamlessly integrating scheduling and logistics data.
The new system will cover project and inventory management, sales and financial activities, as well as project execution. Implementation has begun in France and the US, and will be rolled out across the rest of the group starting next year.
“With the sales and financial management components in IFS Applications, Serimax can monitor its projects all the way from sales prospecting through to final payment, and can easily generate detailed project profit and loss reports,” says Genoud-Prachex.
“This is a challenging project for Serimax, covering all our corporate processes worldwide and representing the largest investment we have ever made in an IT system. IFS Applications provides a global view of all our projects and an interdivisional view of their progress. Both the quality and availability of data provided by IFS Applications will boost the development potential for all our businesses.”
