QAD boosts performance in enterprise applications upgrade

QAD 2011.1 Enterprise Edition ERP, released today (29 September 2011), delivers improvements and extensions across the firm's Enterprise Applications suite.

Improvements range from foundation-level framework updates to new modules, covering business analytics, data integration and asset management. Pam Lopker, president and founder of QAD, cites four as most significant – Business Intelligence 3.5, so-called Package Exception Management 1.0, Enterprise Asset Management 12.4 and the QAD Monitoring Framework. QAD BI 3.5, for example, provides more intuitive information access, she explains, pointing to its browser-based interface and the availability of an iPad app for mobile users. Meanwhile, Package Exception Management is a new add-on for QAD's existing Transportation Management System, providing a portal to track and manage carriers, with visibility of shipments and a useful communications tool. As for QAD Monitoring Framework, that's about giving system performance management a boost. This system allows IT to monitor and report on system availability, including third party software and the infrastructure. Think of it as a tool to assist with performance improvement, monitoring and analysing usage patterns, trends, bottlenecks etc, with alerts, graphs and reports. "We added and improved many features, providing greater visibility and integration throughout the application," states Lopker. "We've taken further strides in simplifying deployment with QAD 2011.1 EE, and now offer both on demand and on premise delivery options," she adds.
