Renishaw and Young Engineers launch competition for a 'life-changing experience'

The Renishaw Engineering Experience -- open to all full-time UK students aged 16-18 -- will run annually for an initial three years, with the first event taking place in June 2013. Renishaw has over 100 vacancies in the UK, the majority for engineers with specialist knowledge, some of which have been open for more than one year. HR manager Peter Bowler said: "As a nation, we simply have to attract high quality people into engineering, not just by persuading young people of the rewarding careers on offer, but importantly their teachers, families and other influencers. The Renishaw Engineering Experience promises to be an inspiring and potentially life changing experience for six lucky students." The fully subsidised, five-day package of activities aims to encourage a career in engineering, allowing the six winners to get close to successful engineering-led organisations and heritage sites, meet the people behind their success, and see the products. Entry is open until 31 March 2013, with selection and interviews taking place in April.
