Suntory Beverage & Food Great Britain and Ireland submitted plans to increase the access of electricity in its Coleford factory to make it independent of its gas turbine.

The revamp would be completed in 2026 and reduce the factory's greenhouse gas emissions by around 58%. The new factory will see the current 11Kv connection that runs the factory with a 33kv connection - making the factory's electricity sources more renewable.

Karl Ottomar, the company's supply chain director, said: "This investment allows us to make significant upgrades, helping us to reduce our carbon footprint but also demonstrating our long-term commitment to the area."

The company said it hopes to work on more environmentally friendly projects in the future, including installing solar panels and heat pumps.
