Rolls-Royce to go global on electronic data discovery system

Rolls-Royce is to improve its ability to search, collect, preserve and audit electronically stored information across its entire network covering 38,000 people in offices, manufacturing and service facilities in 50 countries, when it goes live with EnCase eDiscovery.

The system, developed by digital investigation software from Guidance Software, covers everything from desktops to laptops, servers and email systems, and will enable in-house electronic data discovery and collections. Data collections will be performed at a central location by a single investigator. It means that Rolls-Royce will be covered for all its power systems and services throughout its land, sea and air operations, including in civil aerospace, defence aerospace, marine and energy. The EnCase Enterprise platform covers a full spectrum of digital investigations. It gives companies the ability to audit and protect critical and confidential data across their networks. They can also analyse machines remotely and transparently from a central location. Says Victor Limongelli, president and CEO of Guidance Software: “The scalability of the eDiscovery Suite expands Rolls-Royce’s ability to search, collect and process information for litigation purposes. In the end, this will result in tremendous cost savings for Rolls-Royce.”
