Before accepting this position, Chan was a technical sales manager at air management solutions company, Durr Universal for three years.
In addition, her spent two years as a Key Account Manager at Electrical Components International and was at Sandvik for 17 years as a product manager and R&D project manager.
Chan acquired a PhD in Colour, Chemistry & Dying from the University of Leeds. He also secured a patent for methods to produce a sintered composite body in 2016.
Company director Robert Gordon said: “We are delighted to welcome Peter to the STL team as our Technical Sales Manager. Know-how, or procedural knowledge is what separates STL from most other SME engineering businesses.
“Peter’s research experience, discipline for project management and problem solving, combined with his specialist knowledge is a great addition to the existing know how within the company," he added.
On his appointment, Chan adds: “I am excited to work with the STL team and look forward to bringing my previous experiences and learnings to help grow the business”.
