Landis & Gyr’s advanced metering system is to be integrated with the SAP for Utilities ERP suite under the terms of a new development co-operation agreement signed by the companies.
Andreas Umbach, president and COO of Landis+Gyr, says the result will be end-to-end business process visibility – all the way from the meters to SAP’s business applications – in line with the requirements following liberalisation and deregulation of the energy sector.
“This is the reason why we have proceeded with this development cooperation agreement,” says Umbach. “With a highly scalable and sophisticated interface, energy utilities may profit from leveraging one comprehensive solution that functions alongside the value chain.”
He explains that a new meter data unification and synchronisation (MDUS) system will act as the conduit between Landis+Gyr’s advanced metering management (AMM) system and SAP’s ERP, including the SAP AMI integration for utilities software, which also covers billing and CRM.
