SAP implementation at Rolls Royce & Bentley Motors goes live after 18 months

Replacing a legacy software environment of 25 disparate systems, Rolls Royce & Bentley Motors, the prestigious car manufacturer now owned by Volkswagen, has now gone live with its SAP implementation. SAP’s software, which covers Finance and Logistics, integrates fully with the firm’s Human Resources, Payroll, engineering and a number of ERP systems across the Group, has taken a total of 18 months to implement. Gedas UK, the VW-owned IT systems integrator, supplied 12 consultants full-time for the project, working alongside 28 Bentley staff. “This new system will enable us to reduce time to market and support our growth and expansion as we prepare to become Bentley Motors, which will see us add to our portfolio of luxury performance vehicles,” says Tony Gott, ceo of Rolls Royce & Bentley Motors. As well as a major integration project, the implementation involved a huge amount of migration work of both historical and transactional data to the new SAP software.
