Skin and mouth medication specialist Sinclair IS Pharma has selected K3 Syspro ERP to support growth and optimise its business processes.
The deal follows market research by Sinclair, during which the company says it evaluated several competing national ERP software providers.
The order is for a 24-user licence for Syspro, together with the DataSwitch user interface – which allows non-IT staff to automate data import and export tasks – and consultancy and training services.
Barry Linnard, Sinclair Pharma's consultant, explains that the firm required an ERP solution capable of linking data from five European markets in which it plays, as well as partners around the world – the goal being inventory optimisation, forecasting and MRP.
"We purchased Syspro to replace a mix of non-integrated accounting and stock control systems, supported by an extensive use of spreadsheets," states Linnard.
The new system, which will be rolled out in a series of phases, provides full integration of finance and supply chain, as well as improved demand forecasting, MRP and stock management.
Sinclair is currently following K3's structured implementation methodology. User training has been completed, and Linnard says cleansing and restructuring of core data prior to loading onto Syspro is also well on the way.
"The need for some software customisation was identified in the pre-sales stages, in order to cater for every overseas market that Sinclair operates in, and has now been delivered with some aspects still undergoing further user testing," he adds.
