Kronos today (19 April) announced it has acquired UK-based Smart Computer Holdings and its Spanish affiliate Smart Human Logistics.
Both Kronos and Smart have many manufacturing customers using their time and attendance and workforce management solutions, but the acquisition will extend Kronos' reach into the healthcare workforce market since Smart has an established NHS base.
Founded in 1986, Smart will continue to service its customers from its two UK sites in Codicote and Oldbury, as well as the Spanish business located in Madrid.
Tim Bisley (pictured), general manager for Kronos EMEA, said: "Our acquisition of Smart further expands our position as the leading provider of workforce management solutions for manufacturers. Smart customers such as BAE Systems, Bostik Findlay and JCB join Kronos customers including Hozelock, Kellogg's and Vaillant who are benefiting from Kronos' global manufacturing domain expertise in lean labour methodologies."
