SME IT professionals globally now use Spiceworks to manage an estimated 97 million computers and devices, and to support 58 million workers.
Spiceworks has also powered 174 million help desk queries and currently manages more than 10,947 total petabytes of storage, he says.
And he adds that IT professionals in the Spiceworks community have created 120,000 different discussion topics and 830,000 unique posts related to SMe IT management. In addition, they have rated and reviewed 25,000 technology products.
"We're unique in that we've become the place where IT pros and technology companies come together to connect with the information needed to manage, market and purchase technology products and services," comments Abel.
Commenting on the network's new social sharing tools, dubbed Spiceworks Connect, he says that the aim is to help members to follow and work with people, technology brands and content from around the web, and then share those experiences within Spiceworks.
"Our goal is to provide better ways for Spiceworks IT pros to more easily share and connect with the information, companies and people they rely on to do their jobs faster and more efficiently," explains Abel.
"Spiceworks Connect helps Eaton engage with new customers by connecting our people and products with the small and medium business IT pros who are interested in our expertise, products and services," comments Kristin Somers, marketing communications manager at Eaton, who has been piloting the system.
"By enabling Spiceworks social sharing, we can ensure our company is a part of the social activities and discussions related to the Eaton brand and respond with relevant information," he says.
