SSI Schaefer backs world record bid

A SSI Schaefer sponsored bid to break the world record for driving from London to Cape Town is underway.

SSI Schaefer has donated 30 heavy duty security plastic containers to the expedition being led by adventurer Mac Mackenny. Mackenny and a team of three will attempt to drive to the South African city in less than 13 days, 8 hours and 48 minutes. The team will navigate some of the most challenging road conditions in the world in a Land Rover Discovery with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes. The current record was set in 1963 by Eric Jackson in a Ford Cortina GT. SSI Schaefer's plastic containers will be used to store essential food and kit.
