Organisers of logistics and materials handling event IMHX 2013 have announced a line-up of supply chain experts for the free-to-attend conference running from 19-22 March at the NEC, Birmingham.
The conference will have two streams: a series of seminars pitched at strategic level, plus case study presentations to demonstrate best practice.
The strategic stream – entitled 'Building supply chains for value and performance' – will be delivered by industry experts, including keynote speakers to kick off each day.
Keynote speaker on day one will be Prof Alan Waller OBE, visiting professor in international supply chain management at Cranfield School of Management. Waller will discuss the reality of supply chain strategy in the boardroom and will reveal results of research on this topic carried out in world-leading businesses from 2009-201. The research, he says, clarifies what is involved in developing and implementing a supply chain strategy, including identifying the enablers and obstacles to success.
On day two, the conference will be headed by Prof Alan Braithwaite, acting head of the Cranfield Supply Chain Research Centre and chairman of LCP Consulting. With the theme 'embracing collaboration to drive value', he will use practical examples to demonstrate how to tackle supply chain volatility.
Other keynote speakers are John Manners-Bell, CEO of Transport Intelligence, and Paul Brooks of Unipart Logistics and former chairman of the CILT.
Details of the second conference stream will be announced in the new year.
