Walsall based manufacturer TBF International has praised the "hard work, blood, sweat and tears" of its staff –after posting a record annual turnover of £2.3m.

TBF, which supplies safety critical tube components fitted into the majority of car baby seats manufactured by brand leader Britax, announced it had secured several significant new contracts. The tube manipulation specialist forecast a 20% increase in turnover next year. Director and general manager Matt Gilkes, said: "We've got strong, trustworthy, working relationships with all of our customers, but that is not the primary factor here. Everyone in this company is driven towards achieving personally and that creates the right environment. Hard work, blood, sweat and tears have gone into making it happen." Working in collaboration with fellow Midlands firm Cobra Seats, the two companies have reached a global market. Both companies share the experience of manufacturing seats for the motorsport industry, with TBF manufacturing the frameworks for Cobra Seating. TBF's 24-strong staff have an average age of 34. Gilkes added: "There's a great deal of emphasis on training and multi-skilling the team because our business is people driven and yes, it is our business. We want to drive the business forward and as a growing company the team understand that the key is to work hard for each other and be proud about what we do."
