Recycling systems manufacturer TOMRA Systems has selected IFS Applications for its agile supply chain project in a contract worth SKr 20 million.
Espen Gundersen, deputy CEO and CFO at TOMRA, says the company is implementing IFS Applications components for financials, sales, purchasing, logistics, CRM and manufacturing.
"We selected IFS because of our positive experience of the company and its solutions, which we already use in our Nordic sales and service organisation," comments Gundersen.
"The product and the organisation made a solid impression on us during the procurement process and introductory workshops. Proximity to the development environment was another important factor in selecting supplier," he adds.
Gundersen explains that TOMRA manufactures machines and equipment under short lead time, and works extensively with suppliers to optimise production operations. As a result, suppliers, stable integration with suppliers was a central requirement.
"The new solution will play a very central role in our efforts to reduce costs and streamline production and logistics. We know IFS is a competent, serious player of a size that suits TOMRA and are looking forward to fruitful collaboration in the years to come," he says.
