Seawell drills for growth with IFS Applications

Drilling and oil well service firm Seawell says it has selected IFS Applications ERP to support growth in its global project operations.

The contract, worth SKr 13 million over three years, includes software, services and maintenance, will bring the functionality of former parent company Seadrill to the demerged organisation. Initial coverage is IFS Applications components for purchasing, material administration, logistics and maintenance, with options for the financials, human resources and engineering register suites. Since last year, Seawell has grown from 1,800 to 2,500 employees and says it expects continued growth: hence IFS Applications, which it sees as an "agile and scalable solution". Commenting, Glenn Arnesen, managing director of IFS Scandinavia, says: "We are investing heavily to ensure that we can offer the market the best applications for project-based industries – and in recent years we have been very successful in developing the solution and winning new customers."
