Vanguard, the Halifax-based wire products, retail display and storage systems manufacturer, has been chosen as Innovator of the Year in the annual Halifax Evening Courier Business Awards.
Judges noted how Vanguard has been transformed from a traditional manufacturer into a cutting-edge company, introducing new products and diversifying into fresh market sectors – a course that puts the firm firmly on course to achieve record turnover in 2009.
Managing director Paul Howcroft (pictured front with the award is joined by, clockwise, business development manager Peter Irvine, logistics supervisor Steve Lawton and finance director Malcolm Howlett) said: “We have come far in recent years. The business has expanded both nationally and internationally and product innovation has been key to our success.
“To be ranked among the cream of Calderdale companies by being chosen as the region’s number one innovator – at the first time of entering - is a real credit to Vanguard and a fitting tribute to the performance of the entire workforce.”
