The Reed Job Index shows jobs in the manufacturing sector are up by 24.1% from January last year and among the most significant sector rises.
Reed said that the sector is riding a wave of confidence and manufacturing continues to benefit from the falling Pound.
Engineering was also among the sectors to experience a significant year-on-year rise (+10.6%).
James Reed, chairman of reed.co.uk, said: “Manufacturing is key to prosperity and as such is a vital part of any economy – and that is why these figures are so encouraging.
“This is not a one-off either. The sector has been going in the right direction for some months now which is reassuring news.”
