Upgraded software cuts cooling tower running costs

Fluid Dynamics has upgraded its Expert 5 water analysis software, with more detailed information on cooling tower performance and the ability to predict cycles of concentration.

Expert 5 was developed for Fluid Dynamics’ own use when assessing projects with lime scale problems. Following analysis of the water, the software is used to predict performance of the company’s catalytic water conditioners under site-specific conditions. “Unlike most suppliers of physical water conditioners, we only supply units when we have tested the water and verified that our units will provide an effective solution,” insists Fluid Dynamics general manager Paul Spencer. He points to a major new feature in the software as its ability to analyse a wider range of parameters on cooling towers. He says that means the company can predict cycles of concentration and enable the user to top up less frequently, thus saving significant quantities of water.
