U-POL revenues have surged past the £100m mark

Revenues have surged past the £100m mark at a manufacturer and distributor of automotive repair and refinishing products which was acquired by a US group in 2021, new documents have confirmed with pre-tax profits also rising, Insider Media reported.

Wellingborough-headquartered U-POL specialises in fillers, coatings, aerosols, adhesives and paint related products. 

The company was sold by Graphite Capital to Axalta Coating Systems, a global manufacturer and distributor of coatings, in a deal worth £428m in 2021.

U-POL generated revenues of £105.7m in the year to 31 December 2023, up from £77.7m in 2022. 

Pre-tax profits climbed from £17.2m to £18m over the same period.

A statement signed off by the board said: "2023 saw an increase in sales of 36 per cent - mainly due to the increase of sales for the NAM market. 

"We will continue to invest in our sales structure across the world, with future growth coming in particular from increasing our market share with retail customers in North America. 

"Further investment is planned in new products plus continual investment in our key facility, equipment and in our employees to support this targeted growth."
