Four degree level apprenticeship vacancies in software and control engineering will be available for applicants to work for the bakery firm.

The programme will involve supporting the development and improvement of industrial control systems and operational technology.

Apprentices will be based in the Warburtons bakeries in Burnley, Bristol, Enfield and Wednesbury.

Amanda McDonald, resourcing partner for engineering and senior hires at Warburtons, said: “This exciting collaboration reflects our commitment to innovation and supporting the next generation of engineers.

“Students joining this apprenticeship can look forward to a hands-on learning experience utilising the AMRC Training Centre’s world-class facilities and cutting-edge technology, combined with on-site experience at one of our highly automated bakeries.

“It’s a unique opportunity to kickstart a rewarding career in engineering, developing the skills and expertise to excel. We can’t wait to welcome our talented apprentices of 2025, who share our passion for technology and excellence.”

Successful applicants will join a four-year apprenticeship programme, with a mixture of on-site training and mentors from Warburtons and the AMRC Training Centre.

Dan Swift, business development executive at the AMRC Training Centre, welcomed the new partnership, adding: “Over the past couple of years, we have seen several well known employer brands within the food and drink sector on-board with the AMRC Training Centre.

“Adding such an established brand name as Warburtons bakery to that employer partner group is absolutely fantastic.”
