Bananas supplier Winfresh UK reports successful completion of the Microsoft Dynamics NAV based LINKFresh ERP system from Anglia Business Solutions.
The new system replaces its legacy TCS application and covered all the company's major operational areas, including forecasting, EDI orders, planning, scheduling, intake, quality control, ripening, production, pick and despatch, label checking, invoicing and core financials.
The new system also includes modules for capturing information within the pack house, using rugged touch screen terminals. It also uses mobile applications for managing operations such as product intake, despatch and quality control.
Terry Gates, head of IT at Winfresh UK, says the firm has already noticed a significant improvement. "Full visibility of operations coupled with accurate and timely management information means that we now have a much tighter handle on our costs," he says.
"The benefits of operating in real time are also significant. It means that we can react quickly to events as they happen. We can already see that the system is helping to improve efficiency, while reducing waste and labour costs. This will provide us with increased business agility, leading to improved customer service."
