British Encoder Products says it completed its technical upgrade to QAD Enterprise Applications in four months and, less than one month later, is already seeing revenues and profitability grow.
Steve Evans, general manager at the Wrexham-based firm, says that the project as about standardising on a single instance of the ERP software, and enabling improvement and alignment of its business processes with strategies.
He explains that a team spanning QAD and the company used ADD Q-Scan diagnostic services to review the system configuration and business process automation, and then to optimise the upgrade project plan.
"An ERP upgrade is a major commitment of IT and business resources," comments Evans. "But Q-Scan allowed us to clearly see that the upgrade to QAD Enterprise Applications would allow us to unlock far greater value from our ERP system."
And he continues: "In less than a month, we've already seen the benefits... "We're utilising modern best practices, embedded in the system, to operate more efficiently while delivering service excellence."
Evans cites several significant improvements, including: improved efficiency through better support of best practices; and better productivity, resulting from the contemporary user interface.
He also points to the near real–time report generation, facilitated by faster data access, and increased visibility of key product information, which is allowing sales to offer better customer service.
"Our ERP system is a key part of our IT strategy, and also one of our most essential business assets," states Evans.
