Manufacturing business ERP firm Sage has signed an extended global OEM agreement with electronic document management software firm Version One, under which the pair will jointly launch Sage ERP X3 EDM.

Users of Sage's mid-market Sage ERP X3 offering will now have the option of rapidly integrating Version One's EDM solution into their system to get the promised time, cost and resource efficiencies. Emmanuel Obadia, senior vice president for Sage ERP X3, explains that the integration will enable users to archive, retrieve and process business documents, such as invoices, directly from their core Sage ERP X3 system. He insists that the system is highly secure, providing authorised access within the enterprise to organise, store, access, comment on and distribute appropriate corporate information. He also says that easy search criteria within the Sage ERP X3 application user interface, greatly simplify access to information and eliminate the risk of mislaying or incorrectly filing documents. "Version One's software has been extending the value of Sage accounting and ERP systems for many years, and this was a key factor in our decision to extend our relationship," states Obadia. "Incorporating Version One's technology into our system enables businesses to benefit from significant cost and efficiency savings and provides Sage ERP X3 with additional competitive advantage."
