Amtico International is to engage IT services firm Maxima to host and run its business IT systems, which centre on QAD ERP and Microsoft office software.
Andrew Elsby-Smith, Amtico group finance director, says he expects to reduce operating costs as a result, while also increasing flexibility for his considerable QAD deployment.
He also points to the fact that Maxima will manage the systems from its secure hosted environment, which runs with best-of-breed technology.
The move, he says, will help to increase the agility of Amtico's IT, while also ensuring a stable environment with guaranteed availability and reduced risks, compared with owning and operating its own systems.
"We've built up a strong relationship with Maxima, and have benefited significantly over the years from their in-depth QAD Enterprise Applications expertise and ability to optimise ERP performance for our business," comments Elsby-Smith.
"We're confident that Maxima's … team will help us to manage our Microsoft applications and ERP solution more effectively, while the company's best practice hosting infrastructure will allow us to optimise the running of our QAD Enterprise Applications," he adds.
How well placed is his optimism? Probably very: Maxima has considerable experience of QAD Enterprise Applications from some 300 implementations. The firm says it has also invested in a best practice data centre hosting infrastructure that now combines Tier 1 world class data centre facilities with redundant multi-gigabit, high speed Internet connections that deliver 99.999% availability.
