Global steel giant ArcelorMittal is to consolidate and migrate its messaging systems to the Microsoft Exchange 2010 messaging platform using Wipro services.
Under a five-year contract, Wipro will host the new global messaging system on its hardware, at six ArcelorMittal datacenters, spanning North America, Latin America, East and West Europe and Asia.
Wipro will also manage and secure ArcelorMittal's global messaging system using anti-virus, anti-spam and archive solutions in a move that the company believes will significantly cut spending.
"This is vital for us, as today's communication and collaboration is highly dependent on this service," comments Patrick Vandenberghe, group CIO at ArcelorMittal.
It's a feather in the cap for Wipro, which styles itself a leader in the infrastructure management services sector, with its next generation Global Command Centre technology.
