Bayer is to build a standardised software platform using the SAP solutions portfolio
The health and nutrition giant has finalised a five-year global enterprise agreement with SAP that will see standardised SAP solutions supported across Bayer's worldwide operations.
Under the terms of this agreement, SAP says it will support Bayer in the development and implementation of SAP business applications, providing a unified, global IT strategy.
Bayer believes this is key to increasing market share and profitability in an environment where global supply chains and international competitive pressure are flourishing.
The company also expects to profit in the future from reduced operational costs, by means of a scalable and efficient software landscape.
The agreement includes software, maintenance and strategic consulting services, as well as -tailored, on-site support through the SAP MaxAttention support option.
Bayer can call on SAP solutions, technologies and services as needed at any time, which it hopes will accelerate the global implementation of integrated business applications.
