New e-business consultancy and enterprise integration firm E-Bo has won a major order from global electric motor manufacturer Invensys Brook Crompton, for its integration services and for its close partner Eden Origin’s product configurator software.
The group needs to have a common, rules based order processing system capable of accepting orders through performance description rather than predefined part codes and to go on to be able to source the resulting specification of motor through the appropriate factory(s).
The solution selected is the Eden Enterprise Application Integration suite which includes an advanced rules based product and process configuration module. Using this technology Brook Crompton can define a single quotation, and order processing process for all their factories regardless of which ERP system each is using and regardless of how many ancillary back office systems need to be integrated.
E-Bo was actually formed in June this year by David Waldron, ex-md of enterprise software vendor Fourth Shift Europe. And Eden’s software now has Sybase technology built into it which means it can offer its clients integration services as well as configurator tools.
Brook sales staff will use Eden software to take orders direct over the telephone and to give fast, accurate quotations, lead times, etc, in a language that both Brook and its clients are familiar with. This requires integration of Brook’s ERP systems (Baan) and inventory software with the product configurator.
David Waldron commented: “Invensys Brook Crompton signed a three-figure deal with us last week for our product configurator and associated integration work … These days, ERP on its own is not enough. Our product configurator is being offered by ERP vendors [he cites Geac as an example] to give them differentiation over rival software firms.”
Eden Origin has 47 customers worldwide at present with resellers operating in countries like Australia, Germany, Holland and Eire.
