Thyssen Aufzuge Group, the $3 billion turnover elevator manufacturer, has seen cost savings of around $450k after implementing Cincom’s product configurator, iC Solutions, as part of its overall CRM (customer relationship management) strategy.
The actual cost savings are coming from the quotations side of the business, and are partly due to the product configurator being tightly integrated with the firm’s existing SAP ERP (enterprise resource planning) system.
“We believe on average we’re saving one hour per quotation, and with 10,000 quotations being made each year, that equates to $450k a year in savings,” explains Hans Lauffer, Thyssen’s CRM project leader.
“The security of knowing that when the [Thyssen] sales executives select different components with a customer that the resulting product [elevator] will always be a valid configuration is crucial … And our quotations are more accurate, faster and absolutely reliable now,” adds Lauffer.
