CHR Hansen says it expects to improve its ability to allocate the batch production across its sites when it goes live with Wonderware and Preactor.
The Danish biotech and food ingredients supplier is installing Wonderware's MES (manufacturing execution system) and EMI (enterprise manufacturing intelligence) globally, and connecting Preactor production planning and scheduling software.
Christopher Ashworth, managing director of Wonderware Scandinavia (now the Preactor network partner for the Nordic region), says the Preactor system will be connected to the plant floor via Wonderware's MES layer.
"CHR Hansen needed not just to combine the proven APS and MES benefits that both Preactor and Wonderware are renowned for. They also needed a solution that could be deployed globally," says Ashworth.
Earlier this year, Preactor's FCS (finite capacity scheduling) module was integrated into the Wonderware Operations systems, formerly known as Factelligence.
"Here again our combined ability to work with CHR Hansen both globally and at a local level demonstrates the synergy between our two companies," comments Ashworth.
