Preactor and Apriso combo is greater than the sum of the parts

Planning and scheduling software firm Preactor is now partnering with Apriso, which specialises in MESs (manufacturing execution systems) to deliver an integrated shopfloor manufacturing solution.

Eric Green, Apriso's vice president for partner solutions strategy, says that this highly integrated APS/MES system will meet the needs of globally distributed manufacturers by simplifying and streamlining the planning, execution and management of their production processes. "Our combined solution provides a more robust alternative for those manufacturers seeking a planning and execution system that operates autonomously from their ERP system," says Green. And Mike Novels, CEO of Preactor International, suggests that the combined benefits of MES and APS will be greater than the sum of their parts. "Users of Apriso's FlexNet MES system now have an opportunity to use Preactor to add still further to their manufacturing management and agility, which in turn adds to their competitive advantage," he says. He explains that Preactor APS software can now be implemented as an embedded component within Apriso's FlexNet MES, which includes applications to manage production, warehouse, quality, maintenance and other operations. Manufacturers implementing this new solution can improve efficiency, reduce inventories, lower costs and achieve greater quality for a lower total cost of ownership, insists Noivels.
