CoCreate’s OneSpace Modeling 2007, the 3D CAD suite based on its Dynamic Modeling that provides design teams with Microsoft Office-like productivity, is likely to change the face of speed, flexibility and responsiveness, according to its developer.
Examples include its move by box facility, which simultaneously modifies, moves, or stretches and positions, parts and assemblies in any direction. All the designer does is draw a box around the geometry, then drag it.
Similarly, CoCreate’s part comparison uses new capabilities in Dynamic Modeling to evaluate differences between parts – with designers using options to automatically align the parts and synchronise views and the system highlighting modified or missing geometry. Additionally, designers can understand the differences, not just the interference, among parts, on models imported from suppliers or other 3D CAD systems.
Then again, with the new blending, tapering and surfacing capabilities designers have even more options to explore stylised forms. With Edge-Face Blends, blends can be created in ways not possible before: roll-over options can be used to keep existing edges and, as a result, a blend with the defined radius that doesn't disrupt the edge can be created.
There’s far too many other new and interesting features to mention. Designers not familiar with the Dynamic Modeling approach can assess it free. Go to http://www.cocreate.com/gratis.
