Industrial and office supplies manufacturer Directa expects to significantly improve business efficiency and its carbon footprint when it goes live with a £200,000 Syspro Manufacturing ERP system from K3.
The package includes full IT and remote network support and all hardware, and will replace an ageing, bespoke system with manufacturing, financial and distribution modules.
Directa financial director Trevor Neale says project scope includes the provision of Dell hardware and K3’s NIS (network infrastructure support) service – geared to providing maximum uptime for the entire system.
“K3 will not only provide the software, the company will also supply robust new energy-efficient hardware and maintain this aspect for us,” says Neale.
“We expect the system to provide us with a fully-automated solution that will help us control our business. The Syspro configuration replaces all the functionality of our old system, but is based on standard software so we are not faced with issues that surround bespoke systems,” he adds.
Directa distributes more than 15,000 product lines so the system will harness the key distribution modules within Syspro. Neale says he’s expecting full visibility of Directa’s entire product range, integrating sales, accounts and stock operations, as well as its online store.
“We anticipate that Syspro will boost our performance and customer service levels, as well as eradicate a mass of paperwork. This will also help us push forward our carbon footprint reduction programme,” says Neale.
