Dutch plastic flower containers distributor Elho says it has optimised stock control and demand forecasting, as well as improving customer service, since going live with Infor Demand Planning.
Peter Meyer, director of operations at Elho, explains that it is helping the firm to improve forecast accuracy, enhance the alignment of inventory with demand and hence also optimise customer service.
"Infor Demand Planning helps us improve the accuracy of demand forecasting and required inventory levels," states Meyer.
"We used to work with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, but that was labour-intensive and very difficult to use for forecasting the demand per product and market," he explains.
"Infor Demand Planning is much more effective and provides the capabilities required by our sales departments, which are strongly focused on growth markets."
Meyer says that, in the event of possible shortages of stock or materials, Infor Demand Planning now alerts Elho and enables managers to source supplies from alternative suppliers.
Elho's employees and partners are also connected to the system via a web-based interface, which allows them to collaborate in the forecasting process – and hence the improved demand plan accuacy.
