UK ERP software firm Exel Computer Systems has extended its Eagle mobile field service offering into sales force automation.
Jonathan Orme, Exel's sales operations and marketing manager, explains that Eagle Sales Force software is based on Exel's mobile computing technology.
"The launch of this new, fully integrated product will provide companies with a solution that brings measurable, corporate wide business benefits," says Orme.
"Sales force automation is an obvious complement to our existing CRM functionality, as it allows sales staff to access and update business information while they are out of the office – ensuring that your business data is unified and up to date throughout the organisation," he adds.
The solution works on a range of mobile platforms, including Apple, Android and Windows Mobile.
Exel managing director Rue Dilhe states that the result is a single software solution that "empowers our customers to choose the correct device for the job".
Making the point that smart phones and tablets are part of a rapidly evolving technology set, he also says manufacturers need not fear costly redevelopments and delays, because the system is future-proof.
"Because of the advanced mobile computing infrastructure of the product, the devices are also able to work while off-line. Information is seamlessly synchronised with the back-office server when the device is back on-line."
