Japanese automotive parts manufacturer Faltec says that Apriso's FlexNet system is already providing real-time visibility into inventory levels across each of its five factories, rather than only at a single plant level.
The company reports that this is leading to greater BoM accuracy, as well as improved production efficiency and management awareness of defective goods in the field.
It also says it expects greater accuracy across operations to translate into improved reporting accuracy for customer orders, inventory tracking, resource allocation, OEE and productivity KPIs.
Faltec states that it selected Apriso because the system was assessed as enabling real-time visibility into manufacturing operations across six plants – five in Japan and a plant in Guangzhou, China – while Apriso could also deliver global support.
"Faltec is now achieving more than simply greater inventory visibility with our Apriso solution," says a spokesperson for Faltec's production management department.
He states that improvements include better synchronisation across production, warehouse and inventory processes, which, in turn, is accelerating operational throughput, "contributing to further performance improvements".
That's in part due to the integration of its current MRP system with Apriso's FlexNet, leading to improved manufacturing performance to plan. Better visibility will also lead to a reduction in safety stock levels and hence also reduced inventory costs.
