Francisco Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm, today (6 June 2012) announced the pending acquisition of Plex Systems from a group of shareholders, including Apax Partners.
Plex Systems' claim to fame is its success with providing cloud-based ERP software for manufacturers.
Its flagship product, Plex Online, is a described as a 'shop floor to top floor' solution, and the company has customers across the automotive, aerospace and defence, food and beverage and electronics industries.
"We believe that Plex Systems has the potential to lead the transition to cloud ERP for manufacturers, and that this will be as transformative as the adoption of cloud solutions has been to sales, marketing, and human capital management," comments Petri Oksanen, a principal at Francisco Partners.
