Nitrogen based chemicals manufacturer GrowHow has selected applications from Oracle's supply chain management solution to improve its ability to compete internationally.
The company, which serves the process chemicals industry, expects to gain visibility and control of its fulfilment operations, as well as improving operational effectiveness.
Colin Jones, chief financial officer at GrowHow, says that, for the first time, the manufacturer will be able to access a single view of its supply chain – so enabling improved management of orders, inventory, suppliers, warehouses, transport operations and also hauliers.
Additionally, by automating many of its fulfilment and execution processes, GrowHow will be able to drive efficiencies across the entire business, he says – minimising supply chain bottlenecks as well as improving carrier communications and customer service levels.
"The new platform will also allow us to integrate new modules and applications in the future, in a timely and cost effective manner. It also removes the need to have employees trained specifically to work on our legacy bespoke solution," states Jones.
Specifically, GrowHow has selected Oracle's Transportation Management, Warehouse Management, Order Managmeent and Advanced Pricing modules. They will replace its legacy order management and warehouse management systems, which have been supported and maintained in-house for over a decade.
Meanwhile, it is also upgrading the financial, procurement and enterprise asset management modules of its existing Oracle E-Business Suite to the latest release, 12.1.3.
