Netherlands-based Heerema Fabrication Group, which engineers and builds large structures for the offshore oil and gas industry, expects to improve its agility and growth when it goes live with its new IFS ERP system, worth £3 million.
The contract includes a clause allowing HFG to cancel after a pilot phase, which is already underway. HFG intends to use IFS Applications to support project management, procurement, materials management, fabrication, finance and HR.
Assuming the pilot is successful, IFS will go live in the company’s three sites in Zwijndrecht and Vlissingen in the Netherlands, and Hartlepool in the UK.
“We selected IFS from over 25 enterprise software suppliers because of IFS Applications’ superior functionality and IFS’ wide experience in our industry, which is very project-oriented,” says Wim Korndorffer, CIO of Heerema.
“We are confident that IFS Applications will help us manage our core processes, which are project, material and fabrication management. We are confident that the agility in the component-based EPCI solution will support our business to grow further,” he adds.
