HP Enterprise Services says it is upping the ante on SAP Manufacturing Execution and SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) applications by investing in additional resources for its global Competence Centres.
Alfred Ermer, vice president and EMEA SAP practice leader for HP Enterprise Services, says the goal is accelerating the delivery of global projects while at reducing costs and risks for manufacturing customers.
He cites a new raft of specialists trained specifically for SAP Manufacturing Execution in Japan, China, India, Taiwan and Singapore. And he refers to a new HP BestShore Competence Centre, providing support for SAP MII, now being established in India.
"HP's global capabilities in support of SAP Manufacturing Execution help to resolve coordination problems in the roll-out and standardisation of systems on a global level, and are particularly important to clients who have offshored their own production facilities," says Ermer.
SAP Manufacturing Execution serves as a platform for shopfloor execution. It controls production of materials in line with specifications. Order management, work instructions, quality management, tracking and genealogy are some of the key components.
SAP MII then links production with the rest of the company, by providing a connection between existing shopfloor systems and business operations. HP says it helps to ensure that all data relevant to manufacturing is visible in real time – including information about orders, materials, equipment status, costs and product quality.
