Manufacturing business software specialist IFS has revealed that IFS 360 Scheduling has signed a partnership deal with engineering and visualisation software giant Intergraph.
Under the terms of the deal, IFS software will bring scheduling and optimisation to bear in order to boost workforce productivity and customer service primarily in the utilities industries.
According to Hank Dipietro, vice president of utilities and communications at Intergraph, it's all about enabling utilities plants to send the right personnel to the right jobs on time – so improving productivity and customer service.
Intergraph will incorporate IFS 360 Scheduling's dynamic scheduling engine (DSE) in its mobile workforce management solution. Since the system takes into account skills, service level agreements (SLAs), urgency, travel time, traffic delays, workers calling in sick etc, worker allocation will be as optimised as realistically possible.
"In an environment of rising energy needs and intense competition, the efficient management of mobile assets and resources is critical to the success of any utility," comments Dipietro.
"With the advanced options from IFS 360 Scheduling, our customers will be even more empowered to optimise their operations and work more effectively."
