IFS launches centre of excellence for oil and gas industry

Based in Norway, it builds on 15 years of providing project-based software solutions for the industry, and is the firm's focus for industry competence and experience. Carl-Magnus Adamsson, who heads up the centre, says users can expect assistance with everything ranging from solutions expertise to links with system integrators, third-party product vendors and industry associations. "Our target now is to focus on the up-stream players and especially the EPCI [engineering, procurement, construction, installation] contractors," says Adamsson. "Many of them still have own-developed, stand-alone applications within engineering, fabrication and material management. We are now trying to help them to improve efficiency and secure better project control by offering user-friendly integrated standard packages," he adds.
