IFS signs major deal with automotive manufacturer
An unnamed European automotive manufacturer has selected IFS Applications ERP-plus software to streamline its business processes, according to the company.
IFS is being coy about the organisation concerned, but states that the agreement involves "delivery of IFS solutions for EAM [enterprise asset management] and manufacturing for two of the company's divisions".
The company's goal, continues an IFS spokesperson, is to "reduce operational costs and increase efficiency".
IT is fair to say that the automotive industry is one of IFS' main target markets and that the enterprise software developer has had some success, with customers including BMW, Scania, Linamar, Borgstena, HUF Hülsbeck & Fürst, Toyota and Finnveden Group.
