Global ERP giant Infor and IT consulting firm Ciber have entered into a strategic partnership that, they say, will speed implementations and expand the number of trained consultants globally for Infor applications.
Both firms are specialised by industry and say they will now deliver services and methodologies that Ciber's 7,000 consultants will use to accelerate Infor implementations.
Equipment service, management and rental dealers are likely to be first to benefit, with a templated version of Infor10 ERP Enterprise (formerly Lawson M3) extended by Ciber's consulting practice.
With Infor's M3 application heritage grounded in helping businesses that make, move, or maintain products, the emphasis is on asset management, supply chain activities, customer and supplier relationships, manufacturing operations and financial management.
"Infor's strategy of providing customers [with] solutions that are specialised by industry requires strategic partnerships with proven industry leaders," comments Stephan Scholl, president of Infor.
"Ciber is an ideal partner, because the company's solid expertise in our target industries, including equipment, manufacturing, healthcare, distribution, and the public sector, will help speed time to value for customers," he adds.
Ciber's relationship with Infor actually dates back to 1995, when the company partnered with Lawson Software, acquired by Infor last year.
As one of Infor's largest systems integration partners, Ciber implements full-scale business transformation projects through business process calibration and change management, as well as functional and technical services supporting Infor applications and technology.
